The last wouldn’t be heard about the grand soiree held on Thursday in Ile Ife to mark the 50th birthday of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
So many dignitaries from all walks of life were present to celebrate with the monarch.
His wives—Mariam, Aderonke, Temitope and Tobi— were all present and gaily dressed for the occasion.

But Queens Ashley Afolashade and Elizabeth Opeoluwa were absent.
But before you start wondering why these queens didn’t show up, you need to read this.
Sending a beautiful birthday shout-out to the king early on Thursday via social media was Queen Elizabeth.
It reads in parts,“Long reign my king, my husband, my crown and my support system. I wish you happy birthday and pray that you live long on the throne of your fathers.”
The queen is probably on a nine-month course and wouldn’t see her husband until she puts to bed.
For Queen Afolashade Ashley, who is on maternity leave and wouldn’t see the king until her baby is three months old, she kept inundating her social media handles with birthday messages to her man.
In a video posted on Instagram, Olori Folasade paid tribute to her husband and prayed for him. She also said she was proud to be his wife.
The queen, who welcomed a baby boy on September 3, 2024 at Princess Royal Hospital, London, United Kingdom said it was a shame she was not by her husband’s side physically to celebrate with him.
She wrote, “Happy 50th Birthday Olowo Ori Mi, my CROWN JEWEL, my love! Every day with you has been a gift, and I’m so blessed to share this milestone with you. Here’s to the memories we’ve made and the beautiful moments still to come. I love you more than words can say. Shame I’m not there today, but it’s for a good cause.
