Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, announced in a nationwide address commemorating Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary that he has authorized a temporary stipend for federal government employees, recognizing the ongoing challenges brought about by the removal of fuel subsidies.

This temporary financial support will be extended for a duration of six months, as President Tinubu explained during his address. He elaborated that, during this period, workers in the lower income brackets will receive an extra monthly allowance of Twenty-Five Thousand naira.

In his address, President Tinubu acknowledged the economic strain resulting from the fuel subsidy removal and aimed to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by the country’s government workers.
