Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has declared that he is a “madman” undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

The singer made this claim on Tuesday while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government after being declared wanted by the state police command for allegedly assaulting officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The police allege that Portable, along with nine accomplices, attacked three town planners—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—who were enforcing building regulations in the Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu area of Ota. The officials reportedly encountered Portable’s father at his bar and requested an approved building plan before the singer allegedly led an armed attack on them.
While nine of his alleged accomplices have been arrested, Portable fled the scene, prompting the police to declare him wanted.
Reacting via Instagram, the Zazoo Zeh crooner claimed he was being set up because he wore a vest featuring the face of Senator Adeola Solomon, also known as Yayi. He further stated that he is a psychiatric patient in Abeokuta.
“I fear the government. I am a federal government liability. I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital; I have a card certifying me as one of their patients,” he said.
Portable insisted that he is not a criminal but a helper to those in need, urging Governor Dapo Abiodun to intervene in his case.
