The late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Iku Baba Yeye is in the news again.
This time, his runaway wife, Damilola, who caused a stir with her exit from the ancient Oyo palace when the monarch was alive, has proved that she has ended widowhood.
Queen Dami as fondly called, had been fingered as dating controversial street hop singer, Portable.
For a while, the duo of Portable and Queen Dami had the screenshots of their conversations where they both referred to each other as ‘my king’ and ‘my queen’, published online. In fact, these chats came with love emojis!
This sparked off rumours of the two having an affair but none confirmed anything.
But on Monday during an interview with radio presenter, Nedu, on his podcast, “Honest Bunch”, Portable declared that, “after king na king.”
Inquiring about the rumour, Nedu and crew talked about the late Alaafin’s queen.
Portable in a now trending video on social media responded: “Queen Dami has been my fan from day one.”
They urged him to explain what he meant by fans because some do crush on super stars.
Then Portable replied, “When I now heard of the king’s death, after king na king. You wouldn’t have seen me with her if the king was still alive. I no dey follow person wife.”
Recall Recall Damilola fled with former Queen Anuoluwapo earlier in 2021 but returned.
She fled again.
Damilola, who was flaunting her new lifestyle on Instagram, dressed in sexy dresses with tattoos on her chest and accused the king of ill-treating her. She put up many cryptic messages to rubbish the royal family.
Suddenly, Damilola made a U-turn and asked for Baba’s forgiveness and confessed that she was misled.
She tried returning to the palace after Alaafin of Oyo died in 2022 but was sent out by family members.
