After being on the run for a few weeks, tired but controversial artiste, Portable turns himself in to the police. He was at the SCID, Yaba Lagos earlier today and now on his way to Eleweran, Ogun State
Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has turned himself in at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, days after being declared wanted by the police.
The 30-year-old, who had been on the run since Monday, surrendered on Wednesday and is now being transported to Ogun State, where he will be handed over to the police.

Qed.ng earlier reported that the Ogun State Police Command insisted Portable remained wanted despite his claims of being a psychiatric patient undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
The singer made the claim while pleading with Nigerians and the Ogun State Government after the police issued a warrant for his arrest.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, maintained that Portable had to face questioning.
“Portable will come and submit himself. He cannot be in the psychiatric hospital in Aro. Everybody knows that he is a wanted person. So, if he is going to be in anybody’s facility, the police will not accept that. He is a wanted man,” she said.
The singer is accused of assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—during an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota.
According to reports, the officials had encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar, who informed them that his son was unavailable. However, Portable allegedly arrived shortly after, armed with a firearm and—alongside nine others—attacked the unarmed officials.
The victims reportedly sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The case was escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department, leading to the arrest of nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices, while he went into hiding.
Odutola noted that multiple invitations had been sent to Portable, which he ignored without legal representation.
“Following his repeated evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted,” she added.
