The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the deaths of two Nollywood production crew members who were found lifeless inside a parked car at a film location in Lekki, Lagos.
According to PUNCH Metro, the victims, lighting director Ekemini “GeeTee” Imeh and his associate Ayodeji Walter Odediran, were discovered unresponsive on Saturday, February 7, at the premises of Evercare Hospital, Lekki Phase 1, which was being used as a shooting location.
A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, explained that the two men had arrived early to set up lighting equipment for the movie. After completing their task, they rested inside a Nissan vehicle parked on the site. Concern arose when calls to them went unanswered, and they were later found dead.
“The two crew members arrived early on set and completed installation of lighting equipment before shooting began.
“They were later said to have entered a tinted Nissan vehicle to rest while awaiting further production activities for a movie reportedly directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate Boma.
“At about 11 am, a production staff member allegedly delivered breakfast to them inside the vehicle. The air-conditioning was said to be on, and both men appeared relaxed at the time. While the filming was ongoing, calls to their phones went unanswered. It was after the filming ended around 8pm that their lifeless bodies were later found in the vehicle,” the source said.
The officer added that the men were foaming at the mouth, with one showing blood stains around the nose and lips.
Another source confirmed that the incident was reported to Maroko Police Station. “The case was reported at Maroko Police Station. The CCTV footage from the premises was being reviewed. The bodies have been deposited in a morgue pending forensic analysis,” the officer said.
