The astute politician, late Chief Tony Anenih aka Mr Fix-it, also a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees (BOT), died  on October 28, 2018 leaving behind his wife, Justice Maryann, children and grandchildren.

He was married to other women though. Maryann, was the youngest of the three wives of Chief Anthony Anenih.

Aged 85, Anenih died at an Abuja hospital where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment. He served as minister of works and housing in 1999.

Anenih was deputy national coordinator of former president Olusegun Obasanjo campaign organisation in the 1999 and 2003 elections. Chief Anenih was involved in several controversies part of which was the N300 billion fraud in the transport sector during the Obasanjo administration.

According to the former minister, he was thrown into jail for 18 months from March 1984 to August 1985 by Buhari’s regime for being rich.

In 2016, the former minister survived an eight hour heart surgery which was carried out in the UK.

But before his death, Patricia, his second wife died at  age 74 after a protracted illness. Just when plans were still in place for her burial, on May 14, 2017, reports filtered in that Eugene, the second son of the political stalwart and also of the late Patricia, had died at a club in Lagos. It was learnt that Eugene Anenih, collapsed during a game at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club in Onikan. He was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was taken, it was learnt.

Well, that was then. The family seems to have moved on and gotten over their mourning.

However, lately, his multi-billion naira Abuja mansion was put  up for sale. The mansion which sits proudly on an expanse of land in a choice location in Abuja is a sight to behold. The late politician was said to have lived less than six months in the house before death came calling.

Now, its up for sale. What could have gone wrong?
