- Real Reasons They Don’t Talk
Many who are close to these two prominent men of God would attest to the fact that they were never at peace with each other.
That they are siblings wasn’t enough reason to sheathe their swords.
With Wale and Paul Adefarasin, there was no love lost between these two prominent pastors who are blood brothers.
Wale Adefarasin founded the Guiding Light Assembly on Parkview, Ikoyi Lagos while, Paul Adefarasin founded the House on the Rock church in Lekki. For a long while now, it was such a silent-but-loud irony that two men of God, born of same well-to-do parents could fall apart so widely.
It was so terrible that in 2022 Pastor Paul conspicuously shunned his elder brother, Pastor Wale Adefarasin’s 70th birthday. The crux behind the gulf between them has also been a top-kept secret. However, they are both doing well in their private lives and ministries.
However, the loss of their mum finally brought the two brothers together recently. They lost their mum, Mrs. Hilda Joanne Adefarasin (nee Petgrave) She passed unto glory peacefully in her home, on the evening of Sunday February 5, 2023, at the age of 98.
Mama Adefarasin was buried on March 17, 2023 with dignitaries from all walks life joining the family to bid their mum farewell. The funeral w service was held at the elder brother’s Guiding Light Assembly inside Parkview Estate, Ikoyi and his younger brother, his wife and other siblings were present.
Both pastors are sons of late Justice Joseph Adetunji Adefarasin, a lawyer, High Court judge and Chief Justice of Lagos (between 1974-1985). He was married to their mum, Hilda Adefarasin and their union produced five children; Wale Adefarasin, Bola Adefarasin, Yinka Ogundipe, Michael Adeyemi Adefarasin and Paul Adefarasin.
