Social media personality Abike Halima Raheem aka Papaya Ex has claimed her household purchases and uses 150 bags of ‘pure water’ (sachet) weekly.
Lamenting the exorbitant rate of their Lekki apartment, Papaya Ex, whose mum, Alhaja Muti Oyo built some mansions in Ibadan, said contending with lack of potable water is also challenging.
“We pay so much rent in Lekki for us to be using pure water to bath,” she wrote.
Following the claim, a curious fan JsquareOlakitan asked the number of sachet water bags they use for bathing.
The fan quizzed: “But Abike if I may ask how many bags do you normally use to bath?”
Replying JsquareOlakitan, the controversial social media influencer, whose mum’s housewarming ceremony went viral on social media due to the lavish spending and A-list guests present, explained they make use of three bags to bath at once but for other chores around the house they end up exhausting 150 bags altogether within a week.
“Just 3 bags. But I buy and use 150 bags every week cause this same pure water is what we use to cook and flush,” Papaya Ex noted.
In a tweet, she wrote, “We pay so much money in Lekki for us to be using pure water to bath. I use just three bags to bath and I use 150 bags every week. Because this same pure water is what we use to cook and flush,” she lamented.
In response to this, comedian Nas Boi backed up Papaya Ex’s assertions saying, “She’s isn’t capping men. This island is wack. I cry to have water in my estate”.
