Singer Paul Okoye of the defunct Psquare, popularly known as Rudeboy, has accused his twin brother Peter Okoye also known as Mr. P of stealing his song.
Paul made this claim on his Instagram page on Friday after Peter announced a new track called ‘Winning’ on social media as well.
In his announcement, Mr. P wrote, “Brand New!!! ‘ATTENTION’ Audio out on all music platforms. #Attention🎖🏅🥉🥈🥇🏆🙌🏾 LINK IN MY BIO ☝🏾 #Attention #IconicComeBack. Make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel after listening! One love🤞🏾.”
In response, Paul asserted his ownership of the song. He posted a version of the track and claimed that he wrote and recorded it alongside the same producer Peter worked with.
Paul questioned how Peter could release another version of the song, adding that he planned to include it on his 2025 album.
He wrote, “Song title: WINNING. Written and sung by RUDEBOY. Produced by the same producer.
“Now how come? Am I supposed to release another version? Mr. Producer, your case is for another day…
“Just a simple thing: Bring six songs; I’ll bring six songs. I submitted my six songs to the so-called management. Why re-record my song word for word? This song was supposed to be in my album next June.”
On his Instagram Story, Paul further declared that the “days of manipulation” were over.
He wrote, “The days of manipulation are over!! And to the management, if I hear any song that I sang alone, I’ll release the original version. Oloriburuku!! Music isn’t that hard!”
This conflict is the latest in a long-running feud between the brothers which led to their split years ago.
Recently, the Psquare duo including their brother, Jude Okoye, had a running battle with one another over funds made while Psquare existed.
Paul alleged that Peter petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against him. Peter denied the allegation, saying the petition was against their elder brother Jude Okoye.
