President Bola Tinubu has said his administration never promised Nigerians instant miracles but committed instead to deliberate reforms aimed at improving living standards across the country.
Tinubu made the remarks through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the commissioning of the seven-kilometre access road linking to the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.
He restated that the administration remained focused on delivering its “renewed hope” agenda despite ongoing economic difficulties.
“When we came into office, we did not promise you miracles that would appear from thin air,” he said.
“We promised you structural, calculated, and deliberate progress. We promise a renewed hope agenda that will touch the lives of every Nigerian citizen, not just in economic statistics but also in the reality of their daily struggles.”
The president also defended the economic policies introduced by his government, saying difficult decisions were necessary for long-term stability.
“The reforms we embarked on three years ago were never going to be easy,” he said.
“We made hard choices. But they were necessary choices. Hard choices today mean a stronger Nigeria tomorrow.
“We are not building for headlines. We are building for generations to come. We will keep working day and night until every Nigerian feels the impact of good governance.”

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also praised the newly completed infrastructure, describing it as high quality.
“Let me just tell you a secret. When I was coming on the road, I took up a newspaper to read, and as I was reading, the newspaper was not shaking. I said, this is a fantastic job,” he said.
