The Accord Party’s screening committee has approved Governor Ademola Adeleke to contest in the party’s ongoing governorship primary taking place on Wednesday in Osogbo.

The confirmation was issued in a statement by the committee chairman and the party’s National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod.

According to Thankgod, Adeleke satisfied every requirement needed for nomination and was cleared as the party’s sole contender for the governorship ticket. He further praised the governor, describing him as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” of the Accord Party.

Adeleke was formally presented with his clearance certificate by the screening committee chairman.

Reacting to the development, the governor expressed gratitude to both the committee and the party leadership, reaffirming his commitment to the upcoming electoral battles.

“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.

Adeleke officially joined the Accord Party on Tuesday night, following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 2.
