Unlike what obtained when Olori Wuraola was the reigning queen in the ancient town of Ile Ife, the three sisters of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, would have followed him to California, where is on a tour currently, and would have been splashing photos of their beautiful dresses online!
Then, it was obvious there was a war of who-gets-the-attention-of Kabiyesi in the palace. The beautiful queen Wuraola, who was of a higher pedigree and class than the three princesses—Folashade, Adesola and Adebimpe—was able to manage the façade and not many knew there was a no-love lost war among the women.
After the July 2017 declaration of the former queen, the three princesses were in the eye of the media and many disclosures of how they wanted the former queen out of the palace so that they can bring their candidates for maximum competition with her, surfaced online.
Some parts of the revelations were how they lived off their monarch brother and fleeced him with their ostentatious lifestyles.
If they thought the exit of the former queens (Bukola, who is Ooni’s first wife and Wuraola) would pave way for them to get all the attention, they must have miscalculated.
The negative media they garnered during the Ooni/Wuraola imbroglio made the three princesses withdraw into their shells. Though they still attend parties and other social engagements dressed in their usual same attire, they are more careful how they share photos on social media. In fact, they blocked some preying journalists and bloggers on their handles among which was Kemiashefonlovehaven.
Though two of the three princesses are still divorced(Adesola and Adebimpe) the only one married, Princess Folashade decided featuring more with her husband and not her monarch brother.
For Adebimpe Ogunwusi-Daodu, her marriage to Daodu crashed irretrievably but the ex husband remains a personal aide of the king and they all live in the palace at Ile Ife. Daodu and Adebimpe relocated from Winnipeg in Canada when Oba Ogunwusi was installed as king.
Adesola Ogunwusi-Olojede, the prettiest of them all was once married to a pastor, had a child but got divorced a few years back. She had her 45th birthday earlier in the year.
Lately, precisely last week, the eldest princess, Folashade, decided throwing a surprise party to mark the 50th birthday of her husband, Mr. Jide Fadairo, who is the Managing Director of Inagbe Resorts, one of the properties of the Ooni of Ife in Lagos.
The surprise party, which had friends and family members in attendance was not attended by the monarch.
The couple, Folashade and Jide Fadairo, with their only child had a great time celebrating.
