For the Ogunwusi family, congratulations are still in order
With the twins being christened today both in Ile Ife and at Tobi’s Lagos residence, it’s celebration time for the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi with family members and friends converging on the palace today for the christening ceremony.
However, taking to social media to ‘testify’ of God’s goodness, the excited new mum, Queen Queen Tobi wrote, “God Said “Watch Me Do This!” Agbanilagbatan Gave Me Double For My Trouble.”
Since the king would not be seeing the newborns due to what obtains to Ife’s culture on royal newborn, the queen held a naming ceremony where she would be sent the prince and princess’ names.
Queen Tobi is the third of the six wives taken by the first-class monarch in 2022.
Oba Ogunwusi married the former beauty queen, in October 2022 while picking his new set of wives after some unsuccessful attempts.
Their wedding came nearly four years after it was reported that the traditional ruler was set to marry her following his divorce from Wuraola Otiti. She also disclosed in an interview that her marriage to the monarch was almost stopped by some forces.
Meanwhile, the palace disclosed the news of the children’s birth on the Ooni’s Instagram page last Saturday.
“To God be the glory, great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire house of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba who today birthed a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty,” the post read.
