Ooni Of Ife’s Wife Reveals Real Reasons She Couldn’t Get Pregnant On Time

For those who adduced that the Royal Couple in Ile Ife didn’t have a heir in the early years of their marriage due to infertility, here is the real story.

Oloori Silekunola  Naomi Ogunwusi, wife of  the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi was never barren. Neither was the monarch.

Recounting the journey to conception and birth of their son, the queen revealed what kept her from having babies early.

According to her, societal pressure made it difficult for her to get pregnant.

Recall that the queen gave birth to a baby boy in  November 2020 two years after her marriage to the monarch.

In a recent feature on TVC’s ‘Your View’, Naomi spoke of the “difficult” experience she had prior to conception.

According to her, conception becomes tougher for women when they are constantly reminded of their fertility struggle.

“It was like I was supposed to start popping babies almost immediately. The whole world was just looking at me,” Naomi said.

“Thank God for a supportive husband, he would always tell me not to bother. I think it was something I was challenged with from the first day I got married.

‘‘One thing that society does not yet know is that when a woman is under pressure, it becomes very difficult to conceive because it messes up with her brain and then it goes into her hormones and it becomes more difficult.

“The more you abuse a woman about childbearing, the more it becomes difficult for her to conceive.”

Beyond her conception struggle, the queen also said that she  faced pressure concerning  the sex of her child though not from her husband but the general public.

“For me, it was really difficult but thank God for God, thank God for the Holy Spirit, and thank God for my husband. There was no pressure at all from my husband’s family, they were all very supportive,” she added.

“I would say from the public, there was a little bit of pressure but because my husband didn’t actually care about what gender, it could be a girl, a boy, or even twins he didn’t care.”
