Ooni of Ife Marks 43rd Birthday Without A Queen (Photos)

The handsome monarch of the ancient town of Ile Ife, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II was 43 on Tuesday October 17, 2017.

As expected, his people extended their love to him once again and presented a huge cake for him to mark the day.

Dressed in his usual white robe, the obviously happy king cut all the cakes presented and there was merry-making in the palace.

Though the celebration was low key, the king celebrated alone without any woman at his side.

Though his sisters—Yeye 1, (Folashade) Yeye 2 (Adesola) and Yeye 3 (Adebimpe) were around, none could take the place of a proper queen.

His 42nd birthday in 2016 was organised by his former wife, Olori Wuraola who also took to Instagram to eulogise her then husband with romantic quotes.

A peep at the social media handles revealed Olori Zaynab (formerly Olori Wuraola) shunned the monarch’s birthday and didn’t send a birthday shout-out.
The monarch hasn’t announced or unveiled a new queen.

The first marriage of the Ooni to Adebukola nee Bombata was troubled before he was installed king but they had to patch things up for the coronation.
It later crumbled; she left the palace and headed for London.
With the crash of his first marriage to Bukola in 2015 and his union with Olori Wuraola hitting the rocks in July 2017, many waited with bated breath who the king would announce as Queen.

At 43, he is officially a bachelor king.
