The Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has named the newborn twins delivered of Queen Tobi.
Led by Ile Ife high-ranking chiefs, the royal babies were named according to Ile Ife customs and tradition.
According to the officiating chief, the names given to the prince and princess had been ratified by the gods.
For Taiye (who is the princess) her names are Adesewa, Oluwatamilore, Oreade, Adeayo Ejide Ogunwusi.
The prince was christened Oreade, Adesina, Oluwasemilore, Adebisi, Ejide Ogunwusi.
With the twins being christened today both in Ile Ife and at Tobi’s Lagos residence, it’s celebration time for the Ogunwusi family and they have all converged on the palace today for the christening ceremony.
Their mum, queen Tobi is the third of the six wives taken by the first-class monarch in 2022.
Oba Ogunwusi married Tobi, a former beauty queen, in October 2022 while picking his new set of wives after some unsuccessful attempts.
Their wedding came nearly four years after it was reported that the traditional ruler was set to marry her following his divorce from Wuraola Otiti. She also disclosed in an interview that her marriage to the monarch was almost stopped by some forces.
Meanwhile, the palace disclosed the news of the children’s birth on the Ooni’s Instagram page last Saturday.
“To God be the glory, great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire house of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba who today birthed a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty,” the post read.
