Ooni of Ife Celebrates 49th  Birthday As One Of His Queens Reveals How Wedding Was Almost Marred

The handsome monarch of the ancient town of Ile Ife, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II was 49 on Tuesday October 17, 2023.

As expected, his people extended their love to him once again and presented lots of huge cake for him to mark the day.

Dressed in his usual white robe, the obviously happy king cut all the cakes presented and there was merry-making in the palace.

Though the celebration was low key, the king celebrated with some of his queens.

Meanwhile, one of his queens, Tobi Phillips, has revealed in her congratulatory message to the monarch, how their wedding was almost averted.

A former beauty queen, Tobi Phillips has said she would not be offended if the Ooni decides to marry more wives.

The former beauty queen got married to Oba Ogunwusi on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

She sent a birthday shout out to the monarch and wrote, “Happy Birthday To You My Forever I’m Glad to be celebrating yet another birthday with you as your Wife….

yea this union was almost averted, but regardless of how bumpy and how long the ride took Destiny must be fulfilled.

Stars Aligned just at the point where I already thought it was no Longer possible.

Recalling how their marriage was almost averted, Queen Tobi revealed in an interview, “That year, I was praying to God that I wanted to get married. Then somebody called me and asked if I wanted to get married to the Ooni of Ife. He later introduced me to him but I didn’t take it seriously. But then, we started dating but there were too many interference and we didn’t get married. That was quite devastating for me. I always promised myself that I would marry who I love. I love him and he has some values about who I wanted to marry,” she said.
