Omowunmi has opened up about her strained relationship with her late husband’s father, revealing how their once-friendly bond broke down after the birth of her son, Liam.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, she said the fallout began after family disagreements around the naming ceremony and other internal issues within the family.
Omowunmi explained that she and her father-in-law were once very close before things changed.
“My father-in-law and I used to be best of friends, but we fell out after I had Liam. It was a family feud over naming-ceremony issues and my husband forgiving his mum,” she said.
She added that after the death of her husband, she reached out to him but was surprised that their conversation focused mainly on property rather than reconciliation or support.
“After my husband’s death and the whole issue started, I called him, and all he talked about was my husband’s property,” she stated.

According to her, the situation has now escalated beyond repair due to ongoing disagreements over paternity and inheritance matters.
“We have gotten to a point where I don’t think the whole issue can be settled anymore, because what he wants is for the DNA result to be negative and for him to take possession of my husband’s royalty. I have never opposed the DNA,” she said.
The controversy continues to surround the late singer Mohbad, with family disputes and DNA concerns still drawing public attention.
