Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant winner, Chinenye Ochuba-Akinlade, has thrown her weight behind the ambition of her husband, Adekunle Akinlade, who is the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Ogun State.
Mr Akinlade, the preferred candidate of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, defected to APM when he could not secure the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Amosun, who still professes membership of APC and is contesting the Ogun Central senatorial election on the ruling party’s platform, is the chief backer of Akinlade and other APM candidates in the state.
Among those praying for Akinlade’s victory is his wife of 10 years.
And the 35-year-old former student of the University of Lagos has been busy supporting her husband on the campaign trail.
She has posted a few pictures from his rallies on Instagram via her account which has a modest following of 1417 as at Tuesday evening.
For those questioning Akinlade’s pedigree, the former beauty queen wrote in one of her Instagram posts: “Some people don’t believe in heroes, but they have never met my husband.”
Returning from a campaign on Monday, Chinenye wrote on Tuesday: “We remain grateful for the show of love and support, everywhere we go.”
