With a commitment to control instability and stabilize Nigeria, Nuhu Ribadu began his formal duties as National Security Advisor (NSA) on Monday.

After being chosen by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, Ribadu succeeded retired Maj.-General Babagana Monguno, a former NSA.

He said that the security of Nigeria, its stabilization, and the maintenance of peace across the nation fell squarely on the shoulders of President Tinubu’s government.

He said that this was a project for Nigerians, and we intended to keep on with what had already been accomplished.

“We feel the moment has come for Nigeria to experience peace, restore order, and the rule of law much like any other country in the world, therefore we will stabilize the nation, safeguard our nation, and make Nigeria peaceful.

“Securing the country is a never-ending task. We’ll evaluate what has already been accomplished and expand on it. In order to fulfill our obligations, we shall rely on your assistance.

“Mr. President is deeply committed to protecting every square inch of our nation. To realize this objective, we’ll collaborate with all interested parties.

“All Nigerians and all friends of Nigeria must contribute to this enormous task of securing our nation.”

All military members, and by extension all Nigerians, were urged to cooperate fully by Ribadu.

He said that cooperation was required to realize the goals of the current government for a more stable, peaceful, and wealthy Nigeria.

The previous National Security Advisor (NSA), Monguno, said in his comments that Rubadu is well-equipped, well-qualified, well-educated, and has a very deep awareness of the complexities of the security concerns facing the federal Republic of Nigeria.

He said that Ribadu was off to a strong start and that the new NSA was equipped to handle any difficulties that could arise because of his experience in previous roles.

“As for myself, I was able to give him a thorough note and give him a thorough briefing.

“For my part, I want to express my appreciation to the Almighty God for providing me the ability to serve for such a long period, as well as for enabling me to retire in good health and live out the remainder of my days free from the stress that comes with holding such a crucial position.

“In the same line, I also wish Mallam Nuhu Ribadu a very successful term and a speedy recovery when the time comes for him to go.

The dynamic 21st-century security environment, according to Monguno, calls for a comprehensive strategy.

Terrorists and insurgents are a problem we are currently dealing with. You will need to depend on a group of qualified workers because of the method you would approach the matter.

He asked the employees to provide his successor the same support and collaboration he received in order to accomplish the desired national goal.
