The Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has warned against the act of raining curses on individuals online, describing it as cyberbullying, a criminal offense punishable under Nigerian law.

In a post on X, NPF Adejobi emphasized that such actions go beyond freedom of expression or criticism.

Key Statement:
“Raining direct curses on someone online is cyber bullying, not expression of freedom or criticism. And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offense and is punishable. Be guided.”

The statement sparked mixed reactions online.
