The Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has warned against the act of raining curses on individuals online, describing it as cyberbullying, a criminal offense punishable under Nigerian law.

In a post on X, NPF Adejobi emphasized that such actions go beyond freedom of expression or criticism.

Key Statement:
“Raining direct curses on someone online is cyber bullying, not expression of freedom or criticism. And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offense and is punishable. Be guided.”

The statement sparked mixed reactions online.

While some users questioned the interpretation of the law, others supported Adejobi’s stance, emphasizing the need for responsible online communication.

The discussion highlights growing concerns over harmful online behavior and the legal measures in place to address it.
