Nottingham Forest secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, ensuring they will celebrate Christmas in the Premier League’s top four.

Key Match Highlights:

  • Ola Aina scored in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a cross from Neco Williams that cut through the Brentford defense, leaving Aina unmarked to fire into the bottom corner.
  • Anthony Elanga doubled Forest’s lead in the 51st minute after a defensive mistake by Keane Lewis-Potter allowed Elanga to steal the ball and finish neatly into the far corner.

Brentford’s Struggles:

  • Despite dominating possession, BFC failed to break down Forest’s defense, ending their 10-game unbeaten home streak.
  • The home side’s best chances came from Bryan Mbeumo and Kristoffer Ajer, but Matz Sels made key saves to maintain Forest’s lead.

Forest’s Confidence:

  • Anthony Elanga praised the team’s resilience:”It wasn’t easy to get three points, but it was important to get them and now we just need to keep going.”
    • Forest’s manager Nuno Espirito Santo was also delighted, as the win pushed them up to third place with 31 points.
    • Ola Aina expressed joy at the team’s success:
“It’s a bit of a dream… It’s good to get the three points and good for the fans. They deserve it as well.”
The victory marks a major step forward for Nottingham Forest, with their manager’s philosophy continuing to deliver results as they sit comfortably in the top four heading into the festive period.
