The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPCL) has recently named Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as its new Chief Corporate Communications Officer.
This appointment comes in the wake of the retirement of their previous spokesperson, Malam Garba Deen-Muhammad, along with over 70 other management staff on May 18, 2023.
NNPCL’s official statement hailed Soneye as an accomplished journalist with a rich professional background spanning Nigeria, Australia, and the United States. The statement read, “We are pleased to introduce Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as our Chief Corporate Communications Officer.
“Mr. Soneye, a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in both full-time and freelance roles at renowned publications in Nigeria, Australia, and the United States, will take the helm of our Corporate Communications team. He will be responsible for enhancing our brand presence, driving strategic communication initiatives, and overseeing stakeholder management.
“Mr. Soneye is affiliated with respected professional organizations, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Guild of Corporate Online Media Publishers.
“He also served as the former President of the Nigerian Media Practitioners in Washington, D.C.
“We eagerly anticipate the invaluable contributions he will make to our organization.”
