Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Grammy-nominated artiste revealed the tragic news while expressing grief over the loss of her partner, who was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
In one of her posts, she simply wrote, “God took him.”
She followed it up with another message, “My husband died,” before adding in a third post, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”
Each of the posts was accompanied by a photograph of the singer and her late husband, reflecting the depth of her grief.

Details surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed. The singer has generally kept her personal and family life away from the public eye.
Niniola, 39, rose to fame after finishing as a top contestant on Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since built a strong career in the Nigerian music industry.
She gained international recognition with her 2017 hit single Maradona, which earned her global attention and praise from international stars including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland, and Beyoncé.
