The University of Abuja has implemented measures to combat drug abuse among its students.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’allah, announced that no student would be admitted without undergoing a drug test.
The university is collaborating with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to address drug abuse and provide rehabilitation for affected students.
While students involved in drug abuse will not be expelled, they will be rehabilitated in partnership with the NDLEA.
The university also plans to introduce the Russian language as part of the general courses that students must pass before graduating, aiming to provide new knowledge to students.
Additionally, the institution has banned Pass degrees and received approval for 26 new academic programs.
