Nigeria Super Eagles player, Ahmed Musa, has dismissed claims on social media that he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Musa, who plays for Al-Nassr Football Club in Saudi Arabia described the reports as fake news on his verified Twitter handle and also on Instagram

He wrote, “It has come to my notice that certain individuals have decided to post 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 about me testing positive to Covid 19. ⁣
⁣
This is a pandemic taking peoples lives in thousands so it is sad that some people want to use this to gain followers or views on their pages by spreading falsehood. ⁣

⁣
We are perfectly okay and have not tested positive to the virus. Please don’t fall for the malicious messages circulating about me or my family. ⁣

Saudi Arabia, where Musa says he just returned from, has over 12,772 confirmed coronavirus cases.
⁣

Meanwhile, the player had gone ahead to beg whoever posted it on twitter to bring down the post.

According to Musa, some persons had posted it on twitter that “I tested Negative of Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia, but i have to come back home to enable my people prepare better for Ramadhan”.
