Nigeria Super Eagles player, Ahmed Musa, has dismissed claims on social media that he had tested positive for coronavirus.


Musa, who plays for Al-Nassr Football Club in Saudi Arabia described the reports as fake news on his verified Twitter handle and also on Instagram
He wrote, “It
has come to my notice that certain individuals have decided to post 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 about me testing positive to Covid 19.
This is a pandemic taking peoples lives in thousands so it is
sad that some people want to use this to gain followers or views on their pages
by spreading falsehood.
𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭’𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟒 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 not because any of us have the virus.
We are perfectly okay and have not tested positive to the
virus. Please don’t fall for the malicious messages circulating about me or my
family.
Saudi Arabia, where Musa says he just returned
from, has over 12,772 confirmed coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, the player had gone ahead to beg whoever posted it on twitter to bring down the post.
According to Musa, some persons had posted it on twitter that “I tested Negative of Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia, but i have to come back home to enable my people prepare better for Ramadhan”.
