Nigerian military troops successfully rescued four students of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) who had been abducted by terrorists in Zamfara State.
The students were kidnapped from their off-campus residence in the Sabon Gida Damba district of Gusau Local Government Area.
The troops received distress calls and promptly blocked major exit routes for the bandits.
This action led to a firefight with the terrorists, resulting in the rescue of four students.
During the engagement, two of the students managed to escape, while the other two, a male and a female, were safely rescued by the military.
The security forces’ response and successful rescue are significant steps toward countering the activities of criminal elements in the region.
