Wondering why you didn’t see actress Funke Adesiyan at Moji Olaiya’s burial on June 7 in Lagos? She was also absent at the Artistes Night/Tributes organised by colleagues on June 6.
Prior to the burial, Funke had lambasted some of her colleagues for living fake lifestyles and some of them unable to donate N100k each as requested by the actors’ association for the repatriation of Moji Olaiya’s remains from Canada.
Many expected that she would turn up for the burial.
But she was absent.
Explaining why she was not available, Funke, who is also a politician in Oyo State, said in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, she was out of the country.
She said, “I attended the special prayer that NASFAT held for the deceased at Magodo before the burial, alongside some colleagues in the industry. As for the Artistes Night and burial ceremony, I wasn’t in the country. I just got back.”
Even Bolaji Amusa aka Mr. Latin was absent.

He disclosed that he took ill and was unable to travel from his base in Abeokuta and attend the funeral in Lagos.
He said, “I wasn’t feeling too fine on those days. But I have done what I was supposed to do for the family.”
For Olaniyan Afonja aka Sanyeri, who was not present at the funeral rites for Moji Olaiya, his excuse was that he was in faraway Kogi State during the days slated for the last rites of the actress and he couldn’t make it. He concluded that he had reached out to Moji’s family to render his support.
