Nollywood actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe was more than a friend to the late actress Moji Olaiya who died on Thursday May 18, 2017 in Ontario Canada.
Moji and Bisi shared a good bond in the movie industry and were neighbours in Magodo, Lagos for a while. They were more of family friends whose relatives all knew one another.
They were very close and always at each other’s place if any had any party to do. More of an organizer, Moji stood by Bisi when she had her love child for Senator Dino Melaye and ignored whatever people said in the movie industry especially from the camp of actress Lola Alao, who decided making it a messy media war when Bisi got pregnant for Dino.
Always checking on each other’s welfare, it was a surprise when Bisi had her grand 40th birthday party in January 2017 and Moji was absent. That was when some of their friends and colleagues knew she had travelled abroad to be delivered of her baby.
Obviously, Bisi is pained. Maybe she just could muster courage to write a tribute for her friend today and started sharing photos of them together at functions and a throwback of their younger days.
Bisi wrote:
“RIP… my darling beautiful friend Mojisola Abikeade omo Olaiya..I will miss you so! May God almighty be with you in Jesus name. My beautiful friend l will miss you so much.I will forever miss you my beautiful darling friend love you so much.”
The late actress, Moji Olaiya, is survived by her two parents – her father, is highlife icon, Victor Olaiya; her two daughters – one aged 18 and the other only two months old – who she had gone to be delivered of in Canada.
