The younger brother of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police. Adura was picked up alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, aka King White, on Wednesday at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos.
Sources revealed that the arrest followed a pending case over a phone Adura sold to one Damola Ayinde, which allegedly sparked a blackmail scandal involving Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi. The police action is believed to be connected to the heated dispute that ensued between Fabiyi and Koleosho earlier in court.
Recall that Fabiyi had petitioned the police in December 2024, accusing Adura of initiating an Instagram chat claiming to possess video evidence of how Mohbad died.
According to Fabiyi, Adura demanded N3 million in Bitcoin to release the video. However, Adura denied the allegation, insisting the chat came from Ayinde, the buyer of his old phone.
A forensic investigation was conducted, and the court has since been probing the matter. During the arrest, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, broke down in tears in a viral video, accusing Fabiyi and another man, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating her son’s abduction.
Speaking in Yoruba, she cried, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him. My son did nothing to them. He is sick. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”
Adura had previously demanded a public apology from Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others, accusing them of hacking his TikTok account and defaming him. He also filed a N1 billion lawsuit over the allegations.
A family source confirmed that Adura’s friend, Koleosho, was also arrested after the court session. “Everything happened suddenly. There was an exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi, which might have triggered the arrest. We’ve been trying to find out where they were taken,” the source said.
A police source later confirmed that operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, carried out the arrest. However, efforts to reach the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma, were unsuccessful as of press time.
