Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has opened up on why she turned movie producer cum marketer, Kazim Adeoti, aka Adekaz, who is now her husband, into a skit maker on social media.
Speaking at her movie premiere in Lekki, Lagos on Tuesday, Mercy Aigbe, who converted to a Moslem due to her marriage, disclosed to the audience that since actors she would have employed for the movie promotions weren’t in town, she begged her husband to help create skits for social media jingles.
Getting emotional as she spoke, the mum of two shed tears, knelt down infront of her hubby and asked everyone present to thank Alhaji Adeoti on her behalf.
“My husband has turned into a skit maker…you all saw it on social media. This man did everything to promote this film for me. I said ‘Babe, Omowunmi and Sola Sobowale aren’t in town, it seems we have to dance together and make skits for the movie promos on social media. He didn’t argue and was of the opinion that he would do anything to support me and make me achieve my dream. He said, ‘I’d go all the way for you. I would even wear women’s clothes to dance to Renna;s song..Lets give Alhaji Kazim adeoti, Olowo Ori Mercy an applause ’
The couple engaged fans and followers on scial media with different skits to create publicity for the movie, ‘Ada Omo Daddy.’
Mercy and Adekaz got married privately in 2021.
Adekaz , who owns Ibaka TV, is also a licensed Mortgage Broker in the US who decided relocating to Nigeria to start up a business in movie productions. He was married to his first wife 20 years ago. They have kids together .
In an interview in 2022, he was asked about his first wife.
On whether he has sent his first wife packing, Kazim said, “My family resides in the US, and I shuttle between Nigeria and the US because my business is here in Nigeria. If people say we are separated, maybe it’s because my family is not here with me in Nigeria. So, I’m good with my first wife, we are good together. Though there were issues initially, we are good now, everything is fine and back to normal. I am a Muslim and I am entitled to more than one wife—now I have two wives. I have two beautiful women and I’m glad.”
