The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a 25-player Super Falcons squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with head coach Justine Madugu combining experienced stars and emerging talents as Nigeria targets another continental title.
Leading the attacking line is six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala, who is joined by Esther Okoronkwo, Francisca Ordega, Uchenna Kanu and Chinwendu Ihezuo.
In midfield, captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne, Christy Ucheibe and Jennifer Echegini are expected to play key roles, while Deborah Abiodun strengthens the squad with her energy and versatility.
In goal, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie retains her place alongside Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko, who earns a call-up from Nigeria Women’s Football League side Abia Angels.
The defensive unit will be marshalled by veteran Osinachi Ohale, with Michelle Alozie, Shukurat Oladipo and Oluwatosin Demehin also making the list. Defender Ashleigh Plumptre misses out after failing to recover from injury.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Zambia and Malawi, with all group matches scheduled to take place in Morocco.
The 2026 edition will feature 16 teams for the first time. The four semi-finalists will qualify automatically for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, while the fifth-placed team will secure a place in the intercontinental play-off tournament.
