LASU Best Graduating Student Reveals Her CGPA 5.0 Secret

Aminat Yusuf, who received the highest grade point average (CGPA) for the 2021–2022 academic session at Lagos State University (LASU), said that she read for 18 hours every day in order to do so.

According to Kemi Ashefon, Yusuf earned a CGPA of 5.0 in June, making her the only LASU student to do so in the last 40 years.

However, the law graduate said in a BBC Pidgin interview that she often read for 18 hours each day while in school.

“If you want a first class, you don’t obtain one by word of mouth. In particular when it comes to academics, you must be passionate about what you are doing, she stated.

This is due to the fact that there will be times when things will be really challenging. Since you are passionate about it, you will be able to handle the issue at such times.

“While in school, I read for 18 hours each day. Then, I normally split the topics I’ve chosen for the day into three groups and devote six hours to each one.

Yusuf advised pupils who wanted to thrive academically not to put off reading until the test was just around the brink.

She went on to say that students needed to be dedicated to their studies and ask for assistance from more experienced classmates or lecturers when they had trouble understanding what they were reading.

Yusuf also said that receiving a 4.98 CGPA while enrolled in LASU’s direct entry (DE) program inspired her to strive for a perfect CGPA as an undergraduate.

At the 26th convocation and 40th anniversary of the school, Aminat received N10 million from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The governor disclosed N5 million in gifts from himself and N5 million from the Lagos State government.

Additionally, Aminat, an Edo State native, received an automatic job offer from Governor Godwin Obaseki in the state’s public sector.

The Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., delivered the governor’s offer, saying, “Beyond only congratulating her, we have offered automatic employment to her. Yes, we have talked to her parents and reached out to them. They have accepted our job offer.
