The musician surprised many visitors to his Ojushagbola Castle, his Ijebu Ode palatial home this morning, when registrars from Ikoyi registry coordinated the legalization of the affair between him and Fatia Titilola as legal husband and wife with exchange of rings and signatures.
Titilola, a fabric merchant in Lagos, has had three kids for KWAM 1, who is known to be a serial polygamist, and has been in the relationship for a few years.
They were partners but she bore his name.
However just as Fuji musician KWAM 1, who lost his daughter late last year, marked his 61st birthday today March 3, he decided making Titi, Mrs Ayinde Marshall.
Titi was once married to a certain Tunde Bashua but left him for the Fuji musician, who also accepted the only child she had for Bashua.
KWAM 1 also had other wives who bore him kids. So far, he has been legally married to some of these women including Yewande, who lives in Canada with her children. They are still married.
His marriage to Yewande held in Ghana.
But what many of the Fuji musician’s friends and colleagues are curious to know is whether this legal marriage to Titi would make him change his mind and have a woman in his Ijebu-Ode home.
A source close to the musician said, “Alhaji has never lived with any of his wives and his palatial home in Ijebu doesn’t have an official ‘Madam’. Maybe that’s one of reasons for this early morning civil wedding.”
Before the wedding on Saturday morning, the beautiful fabric merchant lived with her parents in Lekki, Lagos with her kids. Could Titi be the first to break the jinx and move into the Ijebu home?
Meanwhile, it seems KWAM 1 will still perform more weddings with other women in his life. Known to be kind to women, others who have had kids for him are said to be jostling to have the ring like Titi.
