Nollywood actor Kolawole Ajeyemi has publicly backed his wife, Toyin Abraham, following her recent awkward encounter with colleague Funke Akindele.
The incident occurred on Sunday at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, a film by Iyabo Ojo. During the event, Abraham approached Akindele to exchange greetings, but the latter appeared to ignore her, keeping her attention elsewhere.
After the moment, Abraham proceeded to greet Iyabo Ojo before leaving the table.
A video of the interaction quickly circulated online, sparking widespread reactions. While some viewers criticised Akindele’s conduct, describing it as disrespectful, others argued that Abraham should have avoided the greeting if both actresses were not on good terms.
As conversations grew online, a number of supporters rallied behind Abraham, praising her composure and confidence during the situation.
“I advocate for peace a lot, but at this point, I’m done!!! Oluwatoyin, you are loved at home… Nothing do you, omomi,” the user wrote.
Ajeyemi subtly joined the conversation by reacting with a love emoji under one of the supportive posts, a gesture many interpreted as solidarity with his wife.

His action also drew responses from fans, with some advising him to encourage Abraham to stay silent on the matter, while others suggested she should avoid events where Akindele might be present.
Although the exact cause of the tension between the two actresses remains uncertain, there have been past reports hinting at a strained relationship. In 2024, Abraham had addressed rumours of rivalry, noting that speculation had fueled unnecessary competition between them.
