The Supreme Court has dismissed a certificate forgery suit brought against Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State seeking for his ouster in the September 19, 2020 election

The apex court in the judgment delivered on Friday by Justice Emmanuel Agim held that the appeal filed by the All Progressive Congress, APC and its chieftain, Williams Edobor lacked merit and substance.

Supreme Court held that the concurrent judgments of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal both in Abuja were so solid, therefore, there was no reason interfering with the the findings.

The Federal High Court in a judgment by Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed had dismissed the suit and the court of appeal later upheld it

Justice Agim while dismissing the appeal awarded the sum of one million Naira against the two appellants to be paid to Governor Obaseki.
