The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and prayerful, expressing confidence that the country’s security challenges will soon be brought under control.
According to a statement on Saturday by Busola Kukoyi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady, Oluremi made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council at the Government House in Ado-Ekiti.
She said President Bola Tinubu is actively working to address insecurity nationwide, adding that the Federal Government is collaborating with international partners to strengthen security efforts.
Describing the situation as “highly disheartening,” the First Lady noted that ongoing interventions by security agencies would eventually restore peace and stability.
“The US, for example, is helping. Most of the people causing this unrest are non-Nigerians. Not that security issues do not exist in Nigeria. I can’t really say too much because some information is highly classified,” the statement reads.
“Therefore, I can assure you, America, for instance, is helping. France too is helping and some other developed countries.
“Nigeria, because of her nature as a blessed country — you can see the beauty from Ekiti — is too great to be intimidated.”
Oluremi expressed optimism that the nation’s challenges would soon end and called on Nigerians, especially women, to keep praying for peace and progress.

She also announced a N100 million business recapitalisation grant under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) for 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti State, with each beneficiary receiving N50,000.
According to her, the initiative is aimed at supporting small businesses and improving economic stability for women.
Adejimi Alagbado, Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers’ Council and the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, praised President Tinubu’s policies, while urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity, particularly cases of kidnapping in the region.
The First Lady was accompanied by Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice-President; Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs; and Mary Alile Idele, APC National Women Leader.
