Ibadan Stampede: An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ring Road on Monday granted bail to Naomi Silekunola, the former queen of the Ooni of Ife, alongside Ibadan-based media personality Oriyomi Hamzat and Abdulahi Fasasi, the principal of Islamic High School.
The bail was granted after the trio’s legal representatives filed a successful application.
Justice K.B. Olawoyin, presiding over Court 8, outlined five conditions for their release on bail, including a N10 million bond and the submission of landed property documents by two sureties residing within the court’s jurisdiction.
This development comes after the Oyo State government filed multiple charges related to the Ibadan Stampede incident that occurred in Ibadan.
The charges include allegations of murder and other serious offenses, further intensifying the public interest surrounding the case.
Further details on the court’s ruling and the next steps in the legal proceedings are expected soon.
