Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has spoken openly about the financial difficulties she experienced in the early years of her career.
In a recent video, the 43-year-old revealed that although she has been active in the movie industry for about 25 years, she only began earning what she considers significant income within the last eight years.
“I just started making money. I have been in the industry for about 25 years, since 2001. I started making money, I don’t think it is up to eight years. Then, I was making it, but it was peanuts, just what to eat,” Abraham said.
The actress noted that this is not the first time she has spoken about her financial journey, recalling that she made a similar revelation in 2020.
Over time, Abraham has risen to become one of Nollywood’s most successful filmmakers.
