Prophet Joshua Iginla, the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly in Church on Sunday March 3, 2019 announced that his Marriage to Yemisi Iginla has ended.
His reasons? His wife brought an ‘unholy’ child to the marriage, he retaliated by impregnating another woman and his wife could not cover him.
In an emotional-laden voice, he narrated his story to the congregation:
“You have to pray, that’s why I say pray for leaders.
Maybe I might the first man of God doing this in this fashion. This is the way I’m led to do it. I want you to throw your stones at me. Abuse me, insult me, I’d receive it. But I want to stay alive if not for you, for our destiny.
I and your mother-in-Lord (his wife) met and had a wonderful marriage, we started by checking our genotype— she was AA, I was AS. It’s difficult for me to say but I’d say it and stop at a particular point.
We had our first daughter, a wonderful child. Eventually, we discovered she was sickle cell anemia. You see me praying for people here and God has been doing miracles. But I saw it as a battle of faith and a challenge for me as a father. There was no problem. It was no problem. I embraced my daughter and we had good time in my family, it was no problem for me. We flowed along it and discovered she was actually AS. No problem
One thing led to another thing and it led to another thing. I don’t want to go into details.
What happened is what will make man divorce his wife scripturally because I have the backing for that, I had to cover it to make sure that my marriage moved with your mother (his wife) That led to so many things.
I chewed it as a pill but eventually it brought an unholy child into the matrimony. I do not want you to judge my wife, or judge anything I just want you to know.
It led to that and led to serious battles here and there—Family interventions etc. We covered it; we would have not gotten to this point if my wife had listened to me when we had the battle
I also went out and have a child outside wedlock and it became a battle in the family and it has become a big one that some men of God had taken advantage of this battle, of that battle. And some who are under me, who are very bad.
Because I am a man of God, I cannot divorce my wife. If I do, all of you will say a man of God is divorcing his wife.
This battle didn’t start with me. No, she pushed me with this. I covered her up and I didn’t divorce her. When mine came, she threw me into the world. Everywhere I go, my wife keeps telling people, calling people, telling people sending pictures. Feeling so bad because I am not sleeping. I am not sleeping at all
Children who didn’t know my story are insulting me unnecessarily. I thought I wanted to end the struggle. I want it to be on media, insult me, I accept the blame. I’m not going to fight her. I pleaded with her for seven years. I knelt down, begged her, I’ve pleaded. But she chose to make me a laughing stock. I said to her the day I come on air, Mark the end of the union.
The congregation shouts no!
“I just have to end it here. If you are not in my shoes, you can’t be able to talk the way I am talking. I just have to end it here. I know you to know where it is. Pray for us if you love us. I think those who are fighting me, who are sending text on the Internet, can rest now.
I have tried for seven years to stabilize the vehicle but it has not been. I want you to take the blame to be on me.
As it is now, it has become a pain because when your wife begins to fight you everywhere you go, insulting you. I have told her, I said, don’t fight me, let’s solve this problem in secret. If we cannot solve it, I would come to the world, confess, receive the insults and end the marriage.
But she has pushed me to the world and I am confessing and I just have to end it here.
