Nigerian lawmaker Ned Nwoko has alleged that the police once arrested some members of his wife Regina Daniels’ family after she reportedly caused a commotion at a hotel in Abuja.
Speaking at a recent gathering of the Kay Hikers Club, a social hangout for young people, Nwoko described an incident in which Daniels called him, insisting he intervene in a dispute between hotel management and a guest.
The senator representing Delta North said his wife had been staying at the hotel for four days, engaging in prolonged “drinking and smoking” with friends and relatives, including her brother.
According to Nwoko, the situation escalated when Daniels claimed that another hotel guest had slapped her.
In reaction, she allegedly used her vehicles to block the hotel’s two main gates, preventing people from entering or leaving.
He revealed that he refused to comply with her demands, but the police were eventually called to the scene.

“They took this place for four days. And it was four days of partying for them. It was four days of drinking and smoking and all that goes with it. As a lawyer, I have evidence. I have a level. I have a standard. The fact that they were here between the 9th and the 13th or so, and they had drinks and drugs, was documented. We have written police statements,” Nwoko said.
“The fact that they also had fights with the owners of this hotel and guests is also documented. In one of those days, Regina called me to say that she blocked the two gates and that I should call the police commissioner that nobody leaves the hotel. I asked her for what? She told me that her doctors came to see her and somebody’s husband slapped her, and that she did not want anybody to leave or enter the hotel.
“She told me that she used some of her cars to block the entrance of the hotel. She did not do what I asked until the police came. She blocked the gates for over two hours.
“And some of them were arrested – Regina’s brothers and sisters were arrested.”
The couple’s conflict surfaced publicly in October after a viral video showed Daniels in tears, accusing Nwoko of domestic violence. The lawmaker later claimed his wife was battling drug and alcohol addiction. Daniels admitted to using hard drugs but accused Nwoko of manipulating her addiction as part of a broader pattern of control.
