Nigerian music superstar Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has spoken candidly about his personal life, addressing misconceptions surrounding his relationships, family, and character.

In a recent interview with Voice of Nigeria, shared on Wednesday, the celebrated singer reflected on the challenges of fame, the realities of marriage, and the emotional demands of being a father of eight.

Dispelling the long-held belief that he is a womaniser, 2Baba insisted that the label does not define who he truly is.

“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.

The music icon also opened up about fatherhood, admitting that his career has often limited the time he gets to spend with his children, a reality he finds deeply painful.

“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he explained.

Despite this, he described his children as his greatest source of joy and pride.

“They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,” he added.

2Baba further addressed criticisms often directed at his wife, Natasha, especially claims portraying her as domineering or overly influential in his decisions. He dismissed such narratives, praising her strength and intelligence.

“Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things.

“You grow thick skin, but sometimes it gets to you. Reality is reality, she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,” he said.

Offering insight into his personality, the singer revealed that he is naturally introverted, despite the bold public persona associated with his profession.

“My profession doesn’t permit me to be shy, but I’m actually a very shy person.

“Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments,” he concluded.
