Nollywood actress Sikiratu Sindodo has spoken about her experience battling a serious illness that began with what she initially believed was malaria and typhoid before her condition deteriorated.
The actress shared her experience during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, revealing that she was moved between several hospitals as doctors tried to treat her worsening condition.
According to Sikiratu, the illness lasted for months and became so severe that she eventually slipped into a coma.
She recalled that doctors gave her mother a 50/50 chance of survival and at one point advised her to return home.
She said: “I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one General Hospital to another. I can’t remember how long it lasted. I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home”.
Reflecting on the difficult period, Sikiratu said she preferred not to become emotional while speaking about her experience, but acknowledged what she described as God’s faithfulness and the power of prayers in her life.
“God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional”.
