How Bobrisky Was Bundled Out Of Airplane En route London

It was more of a movie scene than reality. Many on the flight were shocked when controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky was removed from a London-bound flight at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos and detained by immigration officers late Thursday as he attempted to leave the country.

Then, a video surfaced early on Friday, showing the moment he was forcefully escorted off the aircraft.

Internet personality Kelechi Anyikude, who witnessed the incident, took to X late Thursday to report that Bobrisky was removed from the flight under unclear circumstances.

“Looks like Bobrisky has been taken off our flight o. Nobody just know wetin Dey happen. Can we depart already? Drama,” Anyikude posted.

This happened after Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, shared photos of himself with Bobrisky at the airport.

Shortly afterwards, Bobrisky updated his Instagram followers, alleging he had been detained and injured during an altercation with EFCC officials.

Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured,” he wrote.

Bobrisky’s troubles began months earlier. In April 2024, the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced him to six months in prison for naira abuse.

Although he was initially sent to Kirikiri Prison, reports alleged he was there for only weeks before being discreetly transferred to a private location. A government panel has since debunked the reports.

In late September, the controversy intensified when social media influencer VeryDarkMan shared an alleged audio recording involving Bobrisky.

The recording claimed Bobrisky accused music artiste Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, of soliciting N10 million to secure a presidential pardon for him.

In response, Falana and Falz sent Bobrisky a cease-and-desist letter on October 16, 2024, demanding a retraction and public apology for what they called defamatory remarks.

However, Bobrisky denied making these statements, asserting that the leak was unauthorized, blaming VeryDarkMan.

The saga took another turn on October 22 when Bobrisky was intercepted at the Sème Border while attempting to leave the country.
