The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed Flourish Hotel, located at New Ipaja Scheme II, Ipaja Housing Estate, Lagos, over repeated noise pollution and other environmental breaches.

The agency disclosed the development on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, highlighting it as part of its intensified enforcement campaign against environmental offenders across the state.

According to LASEPA, the enforcement followed repeated violations of Lagos State environmental regulations by the hotel.

“The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency today sealed off Flourish Hotel located at New Ipaja Scheme II, Ipaja Housing Estate, AIT opposite Obasanjo Bridge Roundabout, Lagos, over persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations,” the agency stated.

Investigations revealed that the hotel consistently failed to meet stipulated environmental standards, particularly concerning excessive noise, which the agency noted “constitute a nuisance to residents and pose risks to public health.”

During the sealing operation, LASEPA General Manager Babatunde Ajayi reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to enforcing environmental compliance.

“Noise pollution and other environmental abuses threaten the quality of life and well-being of residents,” Ajayi said, stressing that the action reflects LASEPA’s determination to uphold environmental standards across Lagos State.

He further explained that the exercise demonstrates the agency’s resolve “to promote a cleaner and healthier Lagos,” aligning with the state government’s environmental sustainability objectives.

Ajayi also urged residents and business operators to strictly adhere to environmental regulations, emphasizing that LASEPA will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against infractions. “Compliance with the law is critical to achieving a sustainable and liveable Lagos,” he added.
