For Bunmi Oladunjoye, life would never be the same again.
She got a proposal from her boyfriend/lover, Flt. Lt. Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi in August 2020.
The couple had an introduction in March 2021.
They must have set a wedding date too.
However, Flt. Lt. Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi became a victim of the plane crash that involved the late Chief of Army Staff Lt- Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and nine other military officers last Friday, may 21, 2021 at the Kaduna airport.
The pilots, Flt. Lt. Alfred Olufade who recently got married and Flt. Lt. Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi who was about to wed, were among the dead.
In an emotional tribute which she shared on social media, Bunmi revealed how he proposed to her, her response and how her fiancé seved his fatherland.
She also revealed what he told her.
She wrote: “
” Femi I have not regrets walking this journey with you, you asked me to be your wife last year in August and I gave you a resounding yes. One of the last things to said to me was to keep on being humble and continue to give. You were a giver, oh you were such a giver.
To Nigerians and the world at large, my fiance FLIGHT LIEUTENANT TO ASANIYI was a great man who dedicated his life to serving this country. Pls pray for him , pray for his family and pray for me.

Meanwhile a Twitter user @_victor_kings who claimed he would have been Asaniyi’s best man wrote, “Flight lieutenant T.O Asaniyi. He flew the plane, we had his introduction in March. I was going to be his best man.”
The gallant soldiers were buried on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
