Activities preceding the interment of the remains of
veteran Nollywood Yoruba actress Henrietta Kosoko, who was also one of the
wives of actor Jide Kosoko, kicked off on Thursday June 9, 2016 with a
Christian wake-keep and artistes night at the LTV 8 complex in Lagos. Today
June 10, the final journey of the late mother of four kicked off with a short
service/laying-in-state at her Bariga, Lagos residence with friends, family members
and colleagues in attendance. The burial programme was rescheduled to taking
place in her hometown in Delta State instead of the earlier planned Atan cemetery
by her widower. The Urhobo tradition forbids her widower, who the family
members accused of not visiting her father’s house till she died, from burying
her. Her bride price was said to have not been paid till she died. Hence, her
remains were taken to Abraka, Delta State.
