Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has reacted to the endorsement of his 2027 governorship ambition by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, describing it as a strong show of confidence in his leadership.
In a post shared on X on Monday, Hamzat expressed appreciation for the support, noting that it reflects trust built over years of working together in public service.
He said the collaboration between him and the governor has strengthened his commitment to ongoing development projects in Lagos State.
Hamzat also reaffirmed his dedication to serving residents with integrity and focus, pledging to build on existing progress if given the opportunity.
He wrote: “Today, I am honoured by the endorsement of my Governor, my brother and my friend, HE Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“His trust means a great deal to me. We’ve worked side by side in the service of Lagos State, and I don’t take this vote of confidence lightly.
“I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together, and look forward to serving Lagosians with integrity, focus and a clear sense of purpose.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu had earlier publicly endorsed Hamzat as his preferred successor during a meeting held at Lagos House, Marina.
